Saraswati Puja

The spring season is the season of happiness for all and this call for Basant Panchami celebrations. It is also known and celebrated as Saraswati Pooja in Eastern parts of India. Panchami marks the beginning of Basant or spring according to the Hindu calendar. As per Hindu beliefs Maa Saraswati the deity of learning, music and art was born on this day and thus to achieve wisdom and art from her people celebrate Basant Panchami as Saraswati Pooja. Basant Panchami symbolized by the color yellow, which is the Goddess Saraswati’s favorite color. Therefore, yellow attire is worn by the devotees of Maa Saraswati. Also, the color yellow signifies the harvest time for the mustard crop.  The color yellow symbolizes peace, prosperity and energy. It fills everyone with optimism. Traditional yellow dresses and food with yellow hues are prepared to celebrate Basant Panchami with full bloom.

The Puja venue was beautifully decorated with flowers, rangolis, and images of goddess Saraswati, creating a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The puja was done at the hands of Dr. Ashok Panda, Associate professor of Sanskit of this college and it commenced with the chanting of Vedic hymns and mantras, invoking the blessing of the Goddess Saraswati followed by the Prasad distribution. The whole atmosphere was vibrant as the students and teachers were dressed in yellow colored traditional attire.

Saraswati Puja holds great significance in our College as it emphasizes the importance of education and the pursuit of knowledge. The ceremony was attended by the teachers, staff and students who devotedly came together to worship Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, Art and Music.
