Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya always provides students with the necessary assistance to achieve their academic results at the college and supports their growth and success.
The college is always sincere in fulfilling its commitment to the needs of economically disadvantaged students. The college provides financial support to poor students through various scholarship schemes of the government. However, apart from the support based on the government scheme, the college provides free studentship to the of students who are in dire need of it and who also could not benefit from any government from their own fund.
- The IQAC of the College has undertaken several initiatives in the past five years to enhance the skills development programme in soft skills, life skills and ICT/Computer skills for students and faculty. These included workshops on entrepreneurship and employment, digital marketing, skill development in aerial photo interpretation, skill development on remote sensing and GIS concept, skill development in career opportunity of studying geography with geospatial techniques. The College has introduced two certified skill development courses in basic computer skills and soft skill development. The NSS and NCC units organise yoga and meditation training sessions on a regular basis for students and teachers for stress relief and improved mental health. The college also organised training programs on women's safety and self-defence.
- The college holds counselling sessions either on a one-to- one basis or group counselling to cater to the academic and emotion well-being of the students.
- The career counselling committee of the college offers support services to help students make informed career choices and navigate their career paths effectively.
- The cultural and sports program is regularly organized in the college. Students regularly participate in Inter College Meet-DPI Sports, Inter College Meet organized by University of North Bengal, Annual Sports. Cultural Programs include Rabindra Jayanti, Basanto Utsav, Barsa Mangal, Matri Bhasha Diwas, Nabin Boron, Teachers Day Celebration, Saraswati Puja, Quiz Competition, Drama Festival etc.
- The Alumnae association of Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya, though in the process of being registered, is an active body that keeps on functioning at regular intervals. The association, often organizes various activities, events and programs that cater not only to the current students of the institution, but also turns out to be beneficial for the members of the same. Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya, through its Alumnae association has by far organized multifarious events that have turned out to be huge successes. It is an integral part of the institution with an organic function of its own.
- The college has a separate cell, internal complaint cell to deal with issues like complaints, quarrels, gender-related issues etc. However, the institution is proud that no single case of quarrels or gender issues has been raised during the last five years.
- The progression of students to a higher degree in various institutes is gradually increasing over the years. Some of the students pursue higher studies like Masters, B.Lib, M.Phil and Ph.D. A certain percentage opt for B.Ed. courses with an intent of joining Government and Private Schools. Quite a few opt for jobs in the private sector, or initiate small business for themselves, like Shoe Laundry, Bakery shops, Jewellery designing, Make-up Studios, Free lancing, Hair Dressing Professionals, Interior Designing, etc. Some students also run their own online business successfully.
- Students have participated in several district-national-international level cultural competitions organised by different recognised organisations or event organisers viz. Sarbabharatiya sangeet -o-sanskriti parishad, North East Dancing Star, Smriti Cultural association, Youth Parliament Extempore Competition, National Level (Pratibha patayanam mahotsav), National Level (India proud book of records), International (5th International Taj Cultural Olympiad) etc. They received several awards in all the competitions.
