Department of History of Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya organized a one day seminar on‘RECONSTRUCTION OF MEDIEVAL HISTORY OF INDIA THROUGH SOURCES’29TH MARCH, 2023 at room no10. Main theme of the seminar is ‘RECONSTRUCTION OF MEDIEVAL HISTORY OF INDIA THROUGH SOURCES’’ which is one of the most important topic introduced by the University of North Bengal in the History syllabus of under graduate course. This seminar is organized by the Department Of History In Collaboration With IQAC,SiliguriMahila Mahabidyalaya.

Therefore the main intention is to provide a detail and deeper perceptive on history of Medieval India to our students, a valuable source of learning for students who want to gain a deeper understanding of their field. Primary purpose of this seminar is to promote a good educational link between colleges and give the students a prospect to interact with teachers outside of their own college.

The seminar focused on How Reconstruction of medieval India done through different sources. All the teachers of the History Department and also from other department and a large no of students were participated in the seminar. Convener of this seminar was Sraboni Chatterjee,Head, and Department of History and joint conveners are , Prodipta Bose, Assistant Professor,Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, Sucheta Mitra , SACT , Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, Moushikha Chatterjee , SACT, Department of History,Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya .

The seminar was inaugurated at 11: 45 a.m with the inaugural address by Dr. Subrata Debnath ,Principal, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya. He has mentioned some significant features of primary and secondary sources of Medieval India and importance of reconstruction of History.Srabani Chatterjee, Head, Department of History has delivered a special lecture on the seminar theme. .The dignatories on the dias were Dr. Gouri Dey, Assistant Professor, Department of History,Salesian College,Siliguri. Dr. Subrata Debnath , Principal, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, Srabani Chatterjee, Head, Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, Prodipta Bose, Associate Professor, Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, Sucheta Mitra , SACT , Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, Moushikha Chatterjee , SACT, Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya .

Prodipta Bose, Associate Professor, Department of History, Siliguri Mahila Mahabidyalaya, has discussed about the theme. Dr. sumitra naha ( Das) from Department of Economics has talked about her views on importance for reconstructing history .

All the dignitaries were felicitated by the students of our college.

There was a tea break for 20 minutes followed by interactive session. Students from all departments and Teaching and non teaching staff from other departments are present.

It was a very informative seminar in which the following issues are discussed.The major aim is to convey precise knowledge or proficiency on ‘RECONSTRUCTION OF MEDIEVAL HISTORY OF INDIA THROUGH SOURCES’ by combining archaeological and historical data which are the foundation for reconstruction of medieval Indian history.

Reconstruction of medieval history through sources is one of most important topic of understanding medieval Indian history

To encourage and motivate students by involvement in real world experiences, achievement stories or innovative ideas associated to the subject matter.

Encourage students to imagine critically and analytically about the theme, challenging conventional perception and promotion of intellectual curiosity.

Provide an opening for students to relate with professionals or experts in the field, creating networking and probable mentorship opportunities.

Recommend insights into career paths, and skill sets essential for success in the field, helping learners to make well-versed decisions about their profession.
