The IQAC of the college has taken the following measures as their best practices:

Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya adopts values and practices that promote women empowerment, ensure green and eco-friendly campus, and instil social responsibility through various outreach programmes. Initiatives like awareness programmes, seminars, participative shows and counselling sessions to address gender issues are organised at regular intervals.  In an endeavour towards building a sustainable and clean campus, the college undertakes energy and resource conservation measures like solar energy, rainwater harvesting, use of LED lights, etc. The college has a landscaped garden. The College believes in equality which is evident through inclusionary practices at multiple levels catering to various cultural, regional, linguistic, socioeconomic diversities. The college makes students aware about their Fundamental Rights and Duties through various programmes organised by NSS and NCC. Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya fosters a Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct for students, teaching and non-teaching staff to promote the core values of the college.

In order to get relief from stress and work load the college adheres to some practices that can at least provide peace for a short period of time if not more. Keeping this view in mind the college organizes sessions of yoga and meditation on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month where students as well as teachers and the non-teaching staffs actively participate. The best part being that in many occasions the alumni of the colleges train the present students. Sessions on karate and Taekwondo are also arranged for the students of the college at regular intervals to develop their life skills.
