Primary Goals Of IQAC
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalisation of quality culture and institutionalisation of best practices.

About IQAC
- At the beginning of each academic session the IQAC coordinator holds a meeting including the teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college. In this meeting annual plans and academic calendar for the college are chalked out.
- The faculty members are assigned with specific educational tasks at the beginning of each academic session. They are asked to submit academic plans before the initiation of each session. They are also encouraged to separate slow learners from the advanced learners and plan special classes according to the necessities of each student.
- The departments are also invigorated to arrange special lectures, seminars, workshops and add-on courses in order to broaden the academic horizon of the students.
- Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya has provided smart class for the students. The teachers are encouraged to use this class for the benefits of the students.
- After discussing the needs of the students in details in the meeting, the IQAC of the college takes the initiative to sign MOUs with different institutions, welfare organisations, law firms, tea estates, corporates, skill development institutes registered under NSDC which enriches the academic resources of the college.
- For the smooth operation of the college the IQAC has taken initiative to provide free WIFI facility for all the stakeholders of the college.
- In order to instill a culture of respect towards nature the IQAC of the college encourages different programs and ensures the involvement of all the members of the college community.
- Attendance in college examinations and tutorials is compulsory for the students.
- The IQAC took the initiative to conduct an NIRF Workshop on 13th August 2023 to facilitate the academic development of the different colleges of North Bengal. Swami. Shastrajnanandaji Maharaj, Belur Math Ramakrishna Mission was the keynote speaker of the program.
- On 8th January 2024 the IQAC of the college conducted a workshop and hands on training on NAAC, sponsored by Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal. The workshop facilitated different colleges of North Bengal.
- Timely submission of AISHE report.
To make the college campus environment friendly the IQAC contributed towards:
- Installation of solar panel and LED lights
- Tree plantation is done in the campus at regular intervals to extend the green cover
- Medicinal plants garden
- Formation of environment protection cell
- Green Audit
- Minimalizing use of paper by digitization of documents

The IQAC of the college has taken the following measures as their best practices:
Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya adopts values and practices that promote women empowerment, ensure green and eco-friendly campus, and instil social responsibility through various outreach programmes. Initiatives like awareness programmes, seminars, participative shows and counselling sessions to address gender issues are organised at regular intervals. In an endeavour towards building a sustainable and clean campus, the college undertakes energy and resource conservation measures like solar energy, rainwater harvesting, use of LED lights, etc. The college has a landscaped garden. The College believes in equality which is evident through inclusionary practices at multiple levels catering to various cultural, regional, linguistic, socioeconomic diversities. The college makes students aware about their Fundamental Rights and Duties through various programmes organised by NSS and NCC. Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya fosters a Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct for students, teaching and non-teaching staff to promote the core values of the college.
In order to get relief from stress and work load the college adheres to some practices that can at least provide peace for a short period of time if not more. Keeping this view in mind the college organizes sessions of yoga and meditation on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month where students as well as teachers and the non-teaching staffs actively participate. The best part being that in many occasions the alumni of the colleges train the present students. Sessions on karate and Taekwondo are also arranged for the students of the college at regular intervals to develop their life skills.
